Alexander of Prussia. Performing Artist. London, UK

Alexander of Prussia

Alexander spent the first 40 years of his life wandering through the darkness that has swept the Earth; he is now ready and prepared by God for his life time mission of bringing hope back to people in a world full of fear, confusion and fighting. As a first step towards accomplishing this mission, Alexander has released his first single – an epic orchestrated cover version of the song “Hero” made famous by Mariah Carey.

Alexander, please tell us about you and why did you decide to become a performing artist?

Thank you for having me! Well, to be honest, I always thought I would become the CEO of a large multinational company. But after working at similar companies while learning the ropes trying to work myself up through the ranks, I have just recently (age 40) decided that it is not for me because I have seen too much dishonesty, unfairness and bad politics. My impression is that in our current world, most people are just interested in their own gain and stop at nothing to advance their own purpose in life and I am very allergic against unfairness and mistreatment of others – especially vulnerable people. During my recent spiritual awakening, I have received my true calling from God who has asked me to be his executive on Earth to help others and to pave the way for his future Kingdom of Heaven.

Why the song “Hero” as a first single release and where is it available?

I have chosen the song Hero (originally performed by Mariah Carey) because it is a message to humanity that there is hope for every person in the world and that each and every one of us has everything inside them to be a true hero in the face of any form of adversity. I took the song and gave it the epic 60 piece orchestra treatment that it deserves. My cover version is available on CDBaby with the video on YouTube.

Please tell us about your album “Fallen Angel”?

I have always loved music from a very early age and followed the development of popular music over the years. For my forthcoming album, I have chosen 10 songs that have a deeper meaning to all of us which may not be apparent to those who originally wrote the songs. Music is actually deeply spiritual and can help guide us onto the right path in life. The album is a warning that we are currently on the wrong path and that we need to stop and think about where we are heading. My album is meant to give hope to people and guide them through hardship and challenging times out of the darkness into the light.

What is the most challenging part of your work?

Initially it was challenging for me to overcome all my fears which held me back. Now my challenge is to bring my music to people as humanity as a whole has lost interest in music and does no longer understand its importance and value. Even I stopped buying music for a while as it has become a disposable item with cheap CDs, downloads and streaming. But I recently bought a vinyl player and my interest in buying music has returned.

What was your most rewarding professional experience?

In whatever I do, it is always when I find supportive people on the way. It makes everything worthwhile. But in our crazy high speed world, it can be difficult to keep in touch with everyone but all the people who have helped me on my way will always have a deep place in my heart and will never be forgotten.

How do you find inspiration?

My biggest inspiration comes of course from God. I have many big ideas for the future as a performing artist and hope to fulfil those aspirations as soon as possible. Most of it includes touring which I would like to do for the rest of my life as I love singing but I would also like to be in movies such as Star Wars if it helps to bring my message across to a wider audience.

What are you up to next? What does the future hold?

At the moment I’m just starting out trying to gain support and a fan base. My main priority is to find funding for my forthcoming album from people who are interested in what I do. Music isn’t cheap hence I need financial support. I have started a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo to find backers for my mission of bringing hope back to people through my music. I am also working on my 2nd single release and will shoot a video soon. In addition, I am trying to build a team and I think I could really do with a manager to support me.

Were you ever influenced by other musicians or key figures?

Many incredible performers have left us recently leaving a big void nobody has managed to fill. I have always followed their path with keen interest and also been saddened when they went astray away from the light. Examples are Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince and many others. Madonna has always been a large inspiration in my life especially for all her hard work and dedication.

How is a day in your life?

I love working all the time and never wish to retire. Now that I am self-employed and no longer see it as work, it is a lot easier. At the moment, I am not traveling as much but I am certain that will change in the near future. In addition, I’m volunteering to help people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease through music and singing.

What makes you smile?

I finally no longer have to get up in the morning to do a job I don’t like. It took me 40 years to overcome my fears to finally face up to who I am.

What scares you?

I do not like failure but I know only through failure and practice can we learn and get better. I have recently started to let go of a quest to always achieve absolute perfection as only God is perfect.

What is your greatest achievement?

When I listen to my first single release and watch the video, I have to stop myself as a very short time ago I would have never believed that this is possible for me to achieve. Reactions from people have ranged from goosebumps to emotional outbreaks with people starting to cry as my song has deeply touched them. Everyone can feel hope coming out of my singing. It means everything to me that I can have such an impact!

What is your secret talent?

Magic – I’m an angel after all.

Which historical figure do you most admire?

Frederick the Great – sorry to stay in the family but there are so many similarities, it is uncanny. He started as a very gentle person but life’s circumstances toughened him considerably yet he remained kind to people even through difficult times.

Any hobbies?

I used to swim competitively as a child as I float on water but I need to force myself to go swimming more often. It is hard for me to switch off as my brain is always on overdrive.

What’s your favorite vacation spot?

My lineage has a deep need and appreciation for the sea so if there is any water involved, I’ll be happy. The magic kingdom (UK) in which I live has a beautiful coast and I go there as often as I can. Because I sun burn very easily, I prefer locations which are not too hot. In San Francisco for example, I always needed to put on a sun screen hence I appreciate when it is a bit cloudier.

What are you never without?

The lord is always with me wherever I go.

Choose two of your favorite quotes and write them here.

Quotes that have recently come to mind are Mahatma Gandhi: First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win and Rihanna: Keep your eyes on the finish line and not on the turmoil around you.

How do you define success?

Once I have achieved my life’s purpose, I have been successful and my life horoscope and palm reading state that people will remember me when I’m gone for all my charitable work. That is all that matters to me.

What advice would you give to anyone starting in the music world?

Really think about your reasons. This is not an easy place to be. If you just want to make money or become famous, there are easier options available. This job can literally kill you but if making a difference to others with your music is what you love, you should be fine.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I realize that this is not a religious publication and that some of my responses may cause unenlightened people to raise their eyebrows but there is a lot more to the universe than what we perceive with our eyes. I hope you can keep an open mind. Only a couple of years ago, I would have been just as skeptical. I aim to convince through my actions. Thank you for your support!
