The song charts are always changing, but it’s easy to pin down some of the best songs of the week. Check out these five songs this week!
SUCKER BY THE JONAS BROTHERS
The Jonas Brothers are back together after more than six years apart. During those six years, brothers Joe and Nick embarked on their own solo careers, but we’re not really sure where Kevin went.
The brother trio announced that they’d be returning to the stage together with the drop of their new song, “Sucker.” The upbeat tune features both Nick and Joe on vocals, laying down some killer harmonies. The song, and subsequent music video, is all about how the guys are suckers for their partners. Their partners, including Priyanka, Danielle, and Sophie, appear in the music video!
7 RINGS BY ARIANA GRANDE
Ariana Grande sure has gone through a lot in her personal life in the last few years. In her new song, which borrows melodies from Julie Andrews’ “My Favorite Things,” Ariana shows that she’s bad and she doesn’t need a man to have it all.
Grande boasts about her credit card, love for retail therapy, and her want for all things luxurious, all while boasting that she spoils her friends with her riches by giving them rings!
Cardi B and Bruno Mars have collaborated before, but their voices work together amazingly in their latest hit, “Please Me.” Bruno’s soulful crooning couples well with Cardi’s slow flow in this tune, all about sexual pleasure.
The song also incorporates some of Cardi’s Latina heritage with the use of several Spanish words. This tune is sure to be one to flick on during date night!
SUNFLOWER BY POST MALONE AND SWAE LEE
Aided by the popularity of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, this song has climbed the charts since the movie’s release. This sweet song is all about cultivating a relationship, much like you would cultivate a garden or a flower.
Post sings about how needy the lover is, saying she loves too much, and also saying that she’s be left in the dust unless he stuck by her. This means she would wither because there would be no one there to keep her happy.
Swae’s deep, measured voice adds to the mystery of the lyrics.
WITHOUT ME BY HALSEY
Halsey newest song hits the nail on the head when it comes to describing the pain of helping your partner through a difficult time only to be shoved aside and left. This song is speculated to be about G Easy, whom Halsey had a very public relationship and break up with not too long ago.
She not only exposes her thoughts and feelings, but she remains confident by boasting that the guy thought he could “live without her,” even though she elevated him to where is currently. Her emotions are raw and unfiltered, and that’s why so many people like this new song by Halsey.
