5 ways to up your Twitter game

With the recent fallout associated with Facebook’s data breach, many users are turning to Twitter as their preferred social media platform.

The site allows you to connect with friends and follow some of your favorite celebrities, athletes, and political figures. But, getting started on the platform can prove to be a bit challenging.

If you want to start a Twitter page, or if you’re just looking to boost your follower count, here are a few tips to up your Twitter game:

NEVER SHARE WITHOUT A PICTURE

Unless you’re already a celebrity, a lot of people won’t pay much attention to your tweets unless you have an attractive photo, video, or GIF attached to it. In addition, Twitter is more likely to promote your tweet to your followers’ timeline or on the “most popular” page if it has a photo.

Find a photo, video, or GIF that aligns with the subject of your tweet before you hit send. It will show you are more engaging and fun to follow!

USE MEANINGFUL HASHTAGS

Hashtags help people who are tweeting or talking about a certain subject easily connect with one another. So long as the same hashtag is used, those browsing other people using the hashtag will see their content.

Use a relevant hashtag when tweeting so that more people can connect with and interact with you.

SCHEDULE YOUR TWEETS

The key to anything is consistency. But, it can be difficult to constantly tweet out engaging content when you work a full-time job and feel exhausted at the end of each day.

Luckily, Twitter has a built-in scheduling system that you can access by typing tweetdeck.twitter.com into your browser. You can schedule your tweets to send on a certain day at any specific time you want. You can attach photos, videos, and GIFs to your scheduled tweets, all without compromising your busy work schedule.

The only downside is that you can’t schedule tweets that include polls and you won’t be able to use your emojis without a browser extension.

FOLLOW MORE PEOPLE

A lot of people will add you if you add them. The more people you decide to follow, the more likely it will be that they will follow you and engage with you on the platform.

CONSIDER DOING A GIVEAWAY

People love free stuff, and a Twitter giveaway is a great way to add followers and make the Twittersphere talk about you for a bit.

Giveaways can include products, gift cards, and experiences. All you have to do is set up some rules. These rules will help you increase your following. You can require those entering to follow you on Twitter and other social media platforms, use a specific hashtag, or retweet your original post. This will inevitably lead to more followers, likes, and retweets.

As you can see, there are a ton of ways to “up your game” on Twitter. Try these out for yourselves and see how much more engaged Twitter users are with your profile.
