Brooke S. Richman

Brooke S. Richman graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 and was listed as a Rhodes Scholar nominee.  Brooke then worked at Citigroup as a Credit Sector Specialist, covering high grade & high yield retail companies before leaving Citi to work as a buyer in the retail department for Theory & Helmut Lang. Knowing she wanted to open her own retail venture, Brooke wrote her business plan at Columbia Business School, where she obtained her MBA in 2013 and graduated with Dean’s List Honors. One month after obtaining her MBA, Brooke created her LLC and coop & spree was born. coop & spree is named after Brooke’s childhood golden retrievers, Cooper & Sprewell (named after former Knicks Player Latrell Sprewell).

coop & spree (c&s) is a omni-channel women’s and kid’s retailer based in NYC which sells over 70 different contemporary brands from across the globe. It operates a downtown NYC brick and mortar location as well as a 24/7 online boutique. coop & spree first launched in 2014 as solely a brick & mortar women’s apparel and accessories. In August 2018, it expanded its product offering with launch of coop kidz, an in-store apparel and accessory concept for babies and toddlers. By March 2020, c&s officially became an omni-channel retailer by launching an e-commerce site, coopandspreevip.com, which ships 6 days a week via FedEx Express to customers nationwide. To complement the merchandise assortment, which entails apparel, accessories, jewelry, home goods, wellness products and more, c&s provide premium concierge services and luxury amenities including same day NYC delivery, express nationwide shipping, complimentary alterations, private shopping events and appointments, bridal party styling, and in-home packing services.  In 2022, coop & spree created its first podcast, coop convos – where we chat with our favorite taste-makers, entrepreneurs, and influencers to talk about all things fashion, business and lifestyle.

In addition to coop & spree, Brooke is involved with a variety of non-profits including the National Kidney Foundation, Girls Inc, PowerPlay NYC & the Arthritis Foundation. She’s not only raised over 6 figures through coop & spree for the charities mentioned above but also has been a committee member for various galas and events – not only assisting with fundraising but serving as a member of auction committees, advising re mentorship, serving as a volunteer and more.

She’s also an active alum at all of her alma matters. She serves on the UPenn Association of Alumnae Board and also volunteers serving as UPenn secondary school interviewer. She’s a member of the Ben Franklin society and is also and a member of her 15th year reunion committee. She’s a member of the Columbia business school alum women’s circle, and serves as a  Columbia business school alumni interviewer, interviewing prospective candidates. Outside of her Alma maters, Brooke is a member of the Entreprenista League, The Luminary, the 10th House, as part of the Female’s Founder Collective, a member of Female Invest as well as the Female Quotient. She was recently nominated for the Birthing of Giants Fellowship Program at Princeton University and was also just nominated for the Influential Businesswoman Awards for 2023.

Brooke’s passions and hobbies include the, the NHL, American History, Politics, Concerts, Running, and spending time with her pups (Melo and Bronny), and her two nieces. Brooke and coop & spree have been featured in Women’s Wear Daily, The New York Times, The Huffington Post, US Weekly, Business Insider and more.  Lastly, coop & spree was just named – in December 2022 – to the prestigious Inc Magazine’s Best in Business 2022 list and a winner in the ‘lean and mean’ category for its philanthropic efforts as it pertains to child poverty.
