In most cases, chiropractic care is sought after by those in need of aid for musculoskeletal issues including neck and back discomfort. Chiropractic is well known for its effectiveness in treating back and neck pain, yet this is just a small part of the profession’s history. DD Palmer, the father of chiropractic, believed that misplaced spinal vertebrae were a primary source of nerve compression and, by extension, illness. According to his teachings, getting your spine straightened out may do wonders for your health. Dr. Pete continues this custom and expands upon it during our conversation with him.
Conversing during the final parts of the interview, Peter Goldman informs us that despite his practice being widely considered great for spinal health, an overwhelming amount of his patients visit him for non-musculoskeletal issues such as sleep problems, constipation or digestive problems, and menstrual pains. While it may come as a surprise for some of our readers, it was important that we ask the doctor about his love for the martial arts as a successful athlete himself having participated in multiple championships.
Dr. Goldman, can you start off by telling us about Zone School of Healing and what it offers?
Zone School of Healing is an online program for Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Acupuncturists, Naturopaths, Reiki masters, Energy Healers, Physical Therapists, MDs, etc. There are also optional in person events. I teach all these doctors and healers how healing really works so they can achieve infinitely better healing results with their clients, and they do. I also teach the Zone Technique in Zone School, which can be applied by any doctor or healer.
How do you come up with the idea for Zone School of Healing?
I started working with patients in 1995. By 2002, the healing results were so spectacular that I had patients flying in to see me from all over the world. This continued, and by 2017 I had patients flying into me from 30 different countries and US cities. I also had over 100 patients driving 4 hours each way to see me. So, I decided to open Zone School to teach other doctors and healers how to do what I do.
What is the Zone Technique for spinal cord stimulation?
90% of what I teach in Zone School are little known high level healing principles. 10% of what I teach is the physical Zone Technique. This technique is a spinal cord stimulation method to heal the brain. The cord is gently stimulated via mostly touch in specific areas that relate to the healing of specific areas of the brain.
How does the Zone Technique help heal the spine? What kind of injuries can it improve?
Helping the spine to heal is just a part of what Zone Technique does. When the brain is balanced and sending out the proper signals to the cells of the body, mostly anything can heal.
Billions of dollars are spent on healing back issues in the USA each year. How can the Zone School of Healing help practitioners address the back problems people experience?
85% or so of my patients come to me for non-musculoskeletal issues (mostly organic/systemic), but the results Zone practitioners achieve with neck and back pain issues is unparalleled.
Dr. Goldman, you work with some of the world’s top athletes. How does regular chiropractic sessions help these athletes perform in their respective sports?
Regular chiropractic is great, but I’m not doing regular chiropractic. Yes, many of the best pro athletes in the world come to me and my students to heal, after nothing else (including several chiropractors) had helped.
What benefits do athletes achieve from regular chiropractic work?
General chiropractic aligns the spine for proper nerve flow. This can benefit an athlete or anyone. Zone Technique is on a whole different level though. It balances the brain itself so that the proper signals are being sent via the nerves in the first place.
You are an athlete yourself and in 1991, you represented the USA in the European Full Contact Karate Championship. How did you get involved with this competition? Do you still practice karate and take part in competitions?
I grew up in a rough area – Brooklyn, New York, when it was a dangerous place, so I decided to learn how to defend myself. I got really involved in Kyokushin Full Contact Karate. By 1990, I was training 2 hours a day, 6-7 days a week with Soshu Shigeru Oyama. Google his name and also search Kyokushin in Youtube.
Dr. Goldman, how is a day in your life?
Run Zone School, martial arts – I also have a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and other fun.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I love to read. I am usually reading 4 books at once.
Choose two of your favorite quotes and write them here
“It is not what you do, but what you stop doing that matters.” – Nisargadatta
“A champion is someone who’s ready when the gong rings – not just before, not just after – but when it rings.” – Jack Dempsey – World Heavyweight Boxing Champion from 1919 to 1926.
If you had the power to change just one thing in the world, what would it be?
Nothing. The Creator is all powerful. I trust that.
