Dr. Muslin, you have received worldwide notoriety for being the only Facelift Dentist®. Can you start off telling us how you got started in the dentistry profession and the career journey you have enjoyed?
In the first year of dental school, I realized that I was gifted with great hand skills and completed all requirements by the end of the third year. For the fourth year, the Dean of the School assigned me multiple complex full mouth reconstruction cases with the school’s department heads working directly with me. By the end of the fourth year, the advanced training was beneficial as I realized that the shape of your face and jawline are directly determined by your teeth, jaw position and bite. Patients can get a structural facelift that revitalizes the face, health, and self-confidence.
We don’t realize how much better we can look and how much better we can feel if we had teeth that were the right size, shapes, angles, color and they coordinated with the jaw joints, to give our faces the most advantageous shape. You most likely didn’t start out to change dentistry all those years ago. So, what inspired you to become the Facelift Dentist®?
My dental education was a rare exception to the norm as I was able to get results that were the inspirational force to my dental future. Your dentistry facility in Santa Monica, California is dedicated to educating patients about the impact the teeth, jaw and bite have on the face. How do these three factors affect the face and health of individuals?
My challenge is to help future patients understand that they can live a better life with a treatment that is easier than ever to receive. Dentistry is one practice in which doctors must not only be skillful dentists but good with business management. How difficult was it to balance the dentistry side with the entrepreneurial business side of the practice? How long had you been practicing before you felt comfortable with both sides of the industry?
I married in my third year of dental school, we had no money, I was borrowing money every year and got a job, analyzing blood and spinal fluid for the local hospital at night. We lived very humbly. After practicing dentistry for one year, I made $12,000 and we officially proclaimed ourselves, “filthy rich”.
Years later, I had to make a choice between the Face Lift Dentistry® side of the practice, and the general dentistry side. I gave away most of my general dentistry patients many years ago to achieve a balance between family, recreation and the entrepreneurial areas of my life. Making this sacrifice helped me to stay married, coach my three daughters’ sports teams, and provide my exclusive level of dental health care to a lot more people plus greatly improve the method over the last 10 years.

Awards and recognition are great because they bring attention to my evolutionary method. My most successful marketing “advantage” is the before and after photos and videos of my patients. These photos are untouched and unaltered and my deepest appreciation goes to these patients.
Trademarking Face Lift Dentistry®, the Dental Face Lift®, VENLAY®, and Jawtrac® has protected the method and allowed the technique to survive. Why protect them? I have experienced the false advertising by hundreds of dentists and website designers that illegally “scrapped” my photos or stole my trademarks from my website, and began advertising my photos on their websites when they cannot offer this method. We put a stop to that and we continue enforcing the trademarks and to protect my patients.

Everyone that I have worked on desperately needed the procedure and I have hundreds of stories that could be in a book, so here are three stories that give different examples of how lives are changed.
THE BANKER- A bank employee said to me, “When I am up for a promotion, my competition is equally qualified. I plan to look healthier, happier, and more confident so that I get the promotion instead of them.” Over the next 20 years, he received promotions and he eventually became the CFO of one of the world’s biggest bank chains. Face Lift Dentistry® helped a very smart person.
THE GRANDMOTHER- A Grandmother told me that she was looking at the website for over a year. Her teeth were worn down and the “biologic dentist” did bite adjustments and silver filling replacements that caused bite pain, headaches, and TMJ pain daily. She did not come in because she was not interested in “in all that cosmetics”, she just wanted out of pain. Then, one day, her five-year-old granddaughter asked her this question: “Grandma, you look really old, are you going to die soon?” Today, she looks younger, feels great, is a healthier grandmother, and is out of pain.
