By 2018, Maserati has made improvements to its now two new versions of the GranTurismo. Although the 4.2-liter engines were discontinued, the GranTurismo is still in a 4.7-liter range in its new two versions. The MC – Maserati Corse – has been replacing the old MC Stradale. This new MC offers a high range of new features previously tested in other Maseratis.

The new 175 kg V8 engine is assembled by hand by the sister assembler, Ferrari. The cross-over crankshaft and wet tank provides an unmatched response on the accelerator and gives the car a rather appreciable and exciting sound.

Despite being two versions of the new GranTurismo, these share many characteristics. The changes in the bodywork are the same for both the MC and the Sport. The new front and rear bumpers give the world a more pleasing view and also help in the aerodynamics of the new MY18. In addition to the new front bumper in the shape of a “shark’s nose” and its innovative grille with chrome designs, the new headlamps also give a luxurious look and at the same time aggressive to the new GranTurismo. The new bumper design ensures very well the car’s aerodynamic resistance and improves airflow.

The redesign of the ventilation system allows the car to have greater stability, as well as distribute the air more efficiently. The MC version unlike the Sport has a carbon fiber hood painted the same color of the vehicle with an air intake that ventilates the engine making it more optimum performance especially when the car reaches high speeds. This splitter is one of the details that differentiate the MC from the Sport.

LED headlights give better illumination to the tracks. The new light design for 2018 also includes daytime LED / Xenon lights. In the MC model the headlights have a darker finish.

The exhaust system of the MC version is lighter and has a totally different shape and function. When in Sport mode, a valve channels the exhaust gases to completely avoid the muffler. This reduces back pressure and creates an impressively sporty sound.

The new versions of the GT are available in 16 colors and 14 different types of tires, among them are some forged with carbon fiber and aluminum. The interior of the MY18 comes lined with leather seats for added comfort, even for rear seat passengers. The center console has an 8.4 “screen for easy access to the car’s convenience.

Without doubt the new Maserati GranTurismo is a speed machine and also presents itself as a luxurious model. In both versions Maserati continues to demonstrate its excellence and love for fast and luxurious cars.
