Prior to nDemand Consulting, Frazier worked for a large federal contracting firm in Washington DC. It allowed him to gain even more experience before setting out for the world of crisis management.

For over two decades, you have worked in the public and private sectors, focusing on business development, executive management, and consulting. What led you to nDemand Consulting?

We created nDemand Consulting Services Inc after seeing the need for progressive solutions and services for organizations of all sizes. The creation of our firm was a natural progression from the years of corporate experience we possessed.

What was your career like prior to joining nDemand Consulting?

Prior to creating nDemand Consulting Services Inc, I was at a senior director-level for a large federal contracting firm in Washington DC. My prior career was focused on program management, Lean Six Sigma, Agile Product Development, and business development.

Frazier started nDemand Consulting with his wife Kiya. The couple has thrived together in business just as they have in their personal lives. As Frazier says, there are challenges, but with those challenges come significant rewards.

Oscar, you founded the company with your wife, Kiya Frazier. What is it like to begin a company with your spouse and what are some of the benefits of working closely with your wife?

Being married and owning a business can be a challenge. Being in business with your significant other includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. Not all couples in business thrive from working together. Working closely together is a dream that grows from love and enthusiasm.

Every year, millions of couples take on the challenge of starting and building a business together. For some, it is the best decision they ever made. However, not every couple has this experience. Working together can present stress that not every couple is prepared to handle. Unfortunately, that stress can translate into trouble for the relationship or the business – or even both. Fortunately, Kiya and I found our rhythm and we’ve figured out the secret sauce to staying sane while operating a business and nurturing our marriage.

Can you tell us about the KO Thought Leaders group of the company?

KO Thought Leaders strives to help couples in business develop structure and strategies that nurture the balance between business and home. From building stress management plans to tips around letting the “bedroom be a bedroom”, we teach couples how to identify complementary skills and the art of unplugging.

How difficult has 2020 and 2021 been for nDemand Consulting due to the COVID-19 pandemic?

Kiya and I wrote an article regarding the “new normal” and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic that was picked up by ForbesBlack Enterprise, Business Ghana and a host of other media outlets, titled “3 SURPRISING REASONS YOUR CRISIS MANAGEMENT PLAN MAY FAIL”. Here’s an excerpt from our article that summarizes our experience:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has understandably spurred renewed conversation around business crisis management. This, pertaining to how to better plan for and preempt unforeseen disruptions, as well as aptly navigating through the mire when perilous challenges present—optimally emerging on the other side stronger than the business was before.

The problem with much of the current discourse—and rest assured there’s an overabundance to be found—is that it largely regurgitates mindsets and methodologies that are underwhelming in today’s complex macro-economic climate, at best, and that have been rendered entirely antiquated given current conditions at worst. Novel challenges like coronavirus demand commensurately fresh ideation—most certainly that intend to help organizations large and small survive and succeed amid today’s brand of chaos.”

Oscar, in 2014, you co-authored Confessions: The Truth About Perfect Timing: A Couples Guide To Reaching Everything You Desire In Life along with your wife, Kiya. Can you tell us about the book? Are there plans to author further books?

Our Book asked the following of the reader: What’s at your core? What defines you? Is your spouse/partner a part of helping you chase your dreams, passions, and goals?  The topics included in this book address head on – how to get around losing a job, to real-life accounts of almost losing everything. This book will drive you to find that burning desire to be better; do more; all while getting closer to your spouse/partner along the way. Think back to when you were ten years old; think back to when you believed you could be anything you could think of, dream of and/or imagine. Whether you were a doctor, a policeman, or superhero, do you remember how fearless you were? At ten years old you did what you loved, and believed that you could be anything you set your mind to. So why don’t we, as adults, have that same fearless spirit now?

Today, too many of us allow doubts, fears, and excuses to control our life; we self-sabotage our dreams, passions, and goals. What would you do if you could get back those dreams, passions, and goals you gave up on five – 10 – 15 years ago? What would you do with the opportunity to reawaken the dreams that you’ve been putting on hold, because the timing just wasn’t right? If you had the chance to ignite new dreams, would you take it? In this book, you will find honest discussions, reflections, and tools that address the burning questions that you have deep inside. If you’re dissatisfied with your life, your job, your career, this is the book for you. If you wake up each morning yearning for something more, this book is for you. This book will give you advice on how to get past yourself, and make your dreams, passions, and goals a reality. Written from a married couple’s perspective, this book has a dual purpose to inspire the individual, as well as, inspire spouses/couples to support each other in their dreams and aspirations. There is no reference to sexual orientation in this book, as the dominant and supportive role in a relationship can shift between partners as various goals are pursued. It is our hope that you will find your inner fire in these pages; the fire you need to make your dreams come true.

What is a day in your life like?

Humble beginnings in Charleston, South Carolina, I learned the importance of perseverance from watching my father and mother raise children in the south during a difficult time in American history. For over two decades, I’ve been fortunate and blessed to lead a very successful career within the public and private sectors. A day in my life consists of: waking up between 4am-5am to listen to a motivational speech or affirmation(s); listening to or reading books for the first couple hours of the morning; eating breakfast and planning the major “must-do’s” for the day; and working out 3-days weekly. I’m usually at my office by noon and work until I master the day.

Oscar Frazier-3

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I’m an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.

Can you share two of your favorite quotes with us?

“When you meet the one who changes the way your heart beats, dance with them to that rhythm for as long as the song lasts.” — Kirk Diedrich

“No matter what you do in life, try to be right. Because the right will always outweigh the wrong.” – Dad

If you had the power to change just one thing in the world, what would it be?

Self-doubt.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I’ve launched my personal brand (www.OscarFrazier.com) that focuses on speaking, training, and coaching. I have set a goal to positively impact 100,000 people by 2025. I believe that many individuals have not reached their full potential simply because they have not had someone to remove the mental roadblocks that separate the good from the exceptional. My message will remain – “You can do it, with what you have.”

Frazier has achieved success in crisis management with nDemand Consulting. Along with wife Kiya, the couple are thriving and allowing private and public organizations to excel. Now, Frazier is taking a step into the speaking, training, and coaching sector. He aims to impact individuals and help them achieve their own goals in business and life.
