The Boll Weevil

Alabama has incredible landmark and is home to the Boll Weevil Monument, which was erected in 1919 to commemorate the role of the boll weevil in the town’s economy. The boll weevil is a small beetle that feeds on cotton plants, and in the early 20th century, it devastated cotton crops throughout the southern United States, including in Enterprise.
