The acclaimed global fashion designer, Sue Wong, show- cased her “Autumn Sonata” Fall 2012 Collection during a champagne lunch at her private Atelier in Los Angeles. Guests in- cluding top fashion editors, bloggers, stylists, fashion and entertainment industry elites and celebrities such as Latarsha Rose (“The Hunger Games”), Brooke Burns (“Melrose Place”) and Taylor Armstrong (“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”) received the exclusive opportunity to preview the new collec- tion.
Autumn’s rich and bountiful harvest, warm earthen hues and its romantic melancholy have long inspired the works of artists from the sonnets of John Donne to the paintings of Claude Monet. The beauty and harmony of the Autumn season inspires Sue Wong’s Fall 2012 Collection. “I love the fiery, dazzling hues of Autumn. Nature be- comes an artist with a brilliant brush to color all trees, bushes and glorious sunsets. Each leaf becomes a rich, exo tic flower. There is an earthiness about Autumn that is beautiful, and reminds us of our own poetic mortality,” says designer, Sue Wong.
The designer’s homage to the season features her signature intricate couture embellishments including hand-bead- work, floral embroidery, and seutache vines paired with skirts of taffeta leaves, petals of organza and satin flowers on dazzling gowns in mineral hues of rich umber, sienna, deep fo-rest green, and glistening gold. The Romantic Me- lancholy moods of Autumn are given voice in a collection of Gothic-inspired gowns incorporating Victorian passe- mentrie work and jet beading. “I love that Sue isn’t afraid of glamour,” said actress, Brooke Burns. The gorgeous gowns were complemented by spec- tacular jewelry from Vilaiwan.
Sue Wong’s timeless designs are each beautiful and unique works of art and perpetuate the couture tradition of so- phistication, glamour, and elegance. Her designs are sold in fine boutiques and department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nord- strom and in more than 27 countries internationally.
Sponsors for the event included Hair and Makeup by Shahen Vardan, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, Shoes by Michael Antonio, Izze Sparkling Juice, Lollia by Margot Elena, Native Union POP Phones, China Glaze, and Leg Luxury.
