A new year brings new opportunities for fans all around the world to experience the major sporting events in the U.S. After almost two years of lockdown, the dawn of 2021 registered the return of crowds in stadiums of various professional leagues, and 2022 is expected to deliver that same trend for high profile events. From football to tennis and golf, the U.S. has plenty to offer and great private jet infrastructure to receive a massive influx of aircraft.

Which are the top events and the best airports to land a private jet? Monarch Air Group prepared a list in reference to the number of requests and bookings received in the past few months for 2022, a year expected to continue setting records in domestic private jet demand in the U.S.

Super Bowl LVI

The king of events, the Super Bowl has historically been a private jet magnet, reaching new records of number of private jet movements in every edition. The big game in California? That certainly promises increased demand and operations for the private aviation industry. Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in Los Angeles is the private jet airport in the region, offering one of the best infrastructures in the world. Only a month away, it would be wise to secure a flight sooner than later.

The Masters 2022

The most important and traditional golf championship in the U.S., The Masters is visited during a span of a week by a large number of private aircraft. Players and fans use private aviation to land at Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) and enjoy the unique vibe of the Augusta National Golf Club, which has been the venue of numerous historic finishes in golf.

F1 Miami Grand Prix

2022 marks the first of a ten-year contract that Miami will host a Formula One Grand Prix. The race will have the cars around Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, north from downtown Miami. This consolidates Miami as one of the top sport cities in the U.S., with professional teams in football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer and now Formula One. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL), just 15 minutes from the venue, is the top option to land a private jet. There is a private terminal for jets and an airport shuttle between private and international airport locations and car service that private passengers can request from their account executives.

Kentucky Derby

The most exciting two minutes in sports is just around the corner, especially if you consider that it unites more than 150,000 strong of diverse backgrounds, from horse racing fans to politicians and international celebrities. The Kentucky Derby is the longest running sporting event (since 1875) in the U.S., radiating tradition in every inch of the 1.25 miles race. Where to land a private jet? Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) is prepared to receive the usual influx of aircraft during the first Saturday of May.

US Open

The fourth and final tennis Grand Slam tournament of the year, the US Open closes the list as the top sporting event to land a private jet in the U.S. for 2022. It attracts all types of crowds as its conveniently located close to New York. It also helps to have the most popular private terminal in the country in terms of infrastructure and number of movements, Teterboro Airport (TEB), only 20 miles away. An additional option is Westchester County Airport (HPN), in White Plains, NY, and private aircraft are also able to land at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
