The name of Dr Kenneth Kaunda the First President of Zambia is synonymous with our struggle for liberation and the fight against colonialism in Africa. The news of his illness and admission to hospital saddens us and our thoughts and prayers are with him at this time.
We convey greetings to the leadership and people of Zambia and join them in prayer for Dr Kenneth Kaunda’s complete recovery.
President KK is a champion of the oppressed people’s of the world and he was host to revolutionaries from all over the continent and the world.
We salute him for his brave and courageous contribution to our own freedom and for providing refuge to our movement when Apartheid South Africa was at the height of its power. He and the people of Zambia stood fearlessly by our side until the dawn of democracy.
We shall forever be indebted to him for his contribution and in this difficult hour we salute him and keep him in our prayers.
