Mr. Quast is an entrepreneur and information technology specialist celebrating more than 35 years of career success across industries. His interest in working with technology developed at a young age, and he began his career by studying at DeVry University. In 1985, Mr. Quast completed a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems.
Between 1985 and 1987, Mr. Quast was a senior programmer analyst with First Data Resources, departing to accept a position as a systems programmer and technology manager for DST Systems. He soon began to work his way through the ranks at the company, serving as a principal architect between 1989 and 1992, and a help desk manager from 1992 until 1996. Mr. Quast remained with DST Systems through 2012, when his position was eliminated due to a reduction in force. After taking a year to focus on caring for his family, Mr. Quast began to explore new business opportunities, including franchise ownership.
Despite his previous knowledge in franchise businesses, Mr. Quast was impressed by the business model offered by Speedpro, and in 2013 he opened Speedpro Shawnee. As owner and president, he is responsible for managing all financial and business administration functions, including workflow supervision and scouting new clients.
As a part of his commitment to the community, Mr. Quast donates signage to Team Smile and local sports organizations, and Speedpro Shawnee was named Small Business of the Year by the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce in both 2014 and 2019. He credits his success to networking and his ability to read people and build strong relationships, and is proud to have been able to use his talents to make a positive impact on his community throughout his career. In the coming years, Mr. Quast plans to begin training a successor and potential buyer for Speedpro Shawnee and moving toward retirement, with goals to spend more time traveling and volunteering.
