More than 20 Rockwall Employers to Recruit On-Site
The Rockwall Economic Development Corporation and Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that more than 20 of Rockwall’s employers will be on site and ready to fill more than 100 jobs at the second annual Rockwall Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 14th at Lake Pointe Church and is open to the public. The church is located at 701 E. I-30 in Rockwall.
Companies from many different industries – from healthcare, finance, and customer service to packaging, logistics, and manufacturing – will be on hand seeking to fill numerous job openings. These companies include Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Pegasus Foods, Pratt Industries, TransAm Trucking, SPR Packaging, Berry Family Services, Lake Point Advisory Group, EZ-FLO International, Col-Met Engineered Finishing Solutions, Impact Selector International, Parts Warehouse, Archer OpTX, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, Rapier & Associates, NFI Industries, Rockwall County, the City of Rockwall, and more.
This year’s event is expected to be larger in size due to its expanded marketing and the partnership between the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation and The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. The event is also hosted in partnership with Collin College, Workforce Solutions of North Central Texas (WSNCT), Texas Tech University, The City of Rockwall, and Rockwall ISD.
“Even with the economy as strong as it is and unemployment as low as it is, there are hundreds of opportunities in Rockwall County for those looking for a career change or who are new to the world of work,” said Matt Wavering, the REDC’s Director of Project Development. “Hiring managers from some of the area’s best companies will be on site hoping to fill a number of openings. They’ll be screening candidates and holding interviews, with some prepared to hire on the spot.”
“The job fair is open to the public, so we hope to have another great turnout from the community this year,” he said. “Even if you’re not looking for a change right now, we invite you to come out and see what these employers have to offer. We especially encourage veterans, students and those with disabilities to come out.”
Full-time positions being offered include, but are not limited to machine operators, financial advisors, mechanics, electricians, electrical apprentices, sales, marketing, maintenance technicians, material handlers, public works, police, fire, clinical and non-clinical healthcare, administrative, and field technicians. In addition, dozens of part-time entry-level positions are available.
Career Support Services Available on Site
In addition to employers, several partners will be on location offering classes, resume and interviewing assistance, and other career services. Below are just a few offerings:
Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas Mobile Workforce Unit will be offering assistance at the job fair. The unit offers job seekers free career advice and help with resumes. Job seekers and employers can take advantage of the unit’s 13 computer stations and internet access.
Collin College will have an information table on professional development, workforce, and career skills certification opportunities, as well as a coaching room on career exploration and professional development tools.
Lake Pointe’s Job Connection will be offering several sessions throughout the day to help job seekers find their perfect job. Exciting sessions include:
