Center for Dermatology & Plastic Surgery brings the Platinum network to Phoenix
DALLAS & FORT WORTH, Texas —Platinum Dermatology Partners (“Platinum”) announced today that it has expanded into Phoenix through a partnership with the Center for Dermatology & Plastic Surgery (“CDPS”), bringing the Platinum network, services, and expertise to Arizona.
Platinum is a dermatology-focused physician services organization with a growing network of highly reputable physicians and physician-owned practices. With density in Dallas and growth expanding from Houston to Arizona, Platinum’s business model allows physician business owners to aggregate within a growing network of their peers while maintaining ownership and autonomy over their practice. Platinum partner practices collaborate through Platinum’s all-physician Clinical Advisory Board, and physicians drive all clinical decisions, partnering with management in business operations.
With 21 providers across eight locations in the greater Phoenix metro area, CDPS is one of the largest practices in Arizona and provides Platinum with a substantial presence upon entry to the market. CDPS offers a comprehensive suite of dermatological and surgical services to patients across the Valley through general and cosmetic dermatology, dermatopathology, and a broad array of surgical specialties including Mohs micrographic, full cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, and vascular procedures.
CDPS was founded in 2000 by Gary McCracken, MD and is led together with his physician partner, Anthony Petelin, MD. The practice now represents a fully-integrated, multi-site dermatology platform providing comprehensive skin care solutions to the greater Phoenix area. Drs. McCracken and Petelin, joined by Anthony Nuara, MD, PhD, will form and lead Platinum’s all-physician Clinical Advisory Board in Arizona to oversee a variety of clinical matters within Platinum’s operations across the state.
“In the midst of rapid change within dermatology, it was important to us that we find a partner that promotes physician-led clinical governance, while bringing greater resources and expertise to our group,” says Dr. McCracken.
“By prioritizing reputation and alignment with its physician partners, Platinum has taken a thoughtful approach in designing a model that creates longevity within the network—which really appealed to Dr. McCracken and me,” says Dr. Petelin.
“I have known many of the Platinum physicians for years from my time at UT-Southwestern and was comforted in knowing that CDPS would be partnering with a group that truly cares about the future of our specialty,” says Dr. Nuara.
“We are extremely excited about our partnership with CDPS and proud to be affiliated with such outstanding clinicians and support staff,” says Greg DeAtkine, CEO, Platinum. “Seeing our model resonating with physicians in new markets is very rewarding and further reinforces our differentiation and the replicability of our model in new geographic areas.”
