We salute our World Record Olympic Champion Tatjana Schoemaker for winning Gold in the final of 200m women’s breaststroke and breaking the 13 year old Olympic record previously held by Denmark’s Rikke Moller Pedersen who set the world record in Barcelona in 2013.
The Royal House of Mandela extends wellwishes and congratulations to South Africa’s Olympic pride, her family and fellow team members and management. We join millions of South Africans in celebrating Tatjana’s stunning feat.
We trust that her herculean performance will be an encouragement to other members of the South African Olympics team.
She is a role model for other young women and youth in general. We hope that many will emulate her achievement in their own disciplines and codes.
We join the world in celebrating Tatjana Schoemaker as the new world record-holder and an instant global celebrity.
